Students
who take this class
should have mastered a more basic
understanding of physics as taught in (PHYS3220, Physics
for
Scientists II, Honors) and, equally important,
the mathematical
foundations as provided by MATH2250
(Ordinary Differential
Equations and Linear Algebra).
The probably
biggest obstacle for succesess in this
class may
be an insufficient mathematical background. In
preparation of
this class, please review your skills in
- calculus with one or several
variables
- linear algebra
- elementary knowledge of ordinary
linear differential equation
- elementary vector calculus
