Title: Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes
Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are quasi-1D allotropes of carbon that possess many unique and interesting characteristics. Their physical strength, versatility in composite materials, and tunable electronic properties make them ideal candidates for many new materials and technologies. Josh Kennedy will discuss the nature of the photo-excited states in SWNTs, and will present the results regarding the behavior of electronic and vibrational excitations when the nanotubes are doped electrochemically and through direct charge injection.
