Membership
In the physics department, you automatically become a member of GSAC when you enroll as a graduate student. GSAC members have the right to participate fully in all GSAC activities. This includes commenting on faculty who are being reviewed for RPT, voting on the GSAC RPT report, planning, organizing, and participating in social activities, as well as requesting assistance from the GSAC chair involving problems with the administration (this has included issues involving payroll, workload, common exam, etc.). It also includes paricipating in mock thesis defences and other public speaking practices. All grad students are invited to join one (or more) of the subcommittees listed above. To do so, contact a member of the committee, or the chair or chair-elect.
Committees
Elections for Chair-elect (who becomes the consecutive Chair) occur every spring. Usually organizational meetings are announced to form the committees. However, you can help serve in a committee at anytime! Just contact the Chair.
