Faculty Opening in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Faculty Position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Development of Novel Materials; Organic Optics/Electronics/Spintronics; Plasmonics The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Utah invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics in the area of novel materials growth physics; organic optics/electronics/spintronics; plasmonics. The appointment may be made at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level; rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience. Strong candidates who have a solid track record in developing and/or characterizing organic materials for electronics, spintronics or light-harvesting applications are especially invited to apply. Synergy with local NSF/MRSEC research groups interested in organic spintronics and/or plasmonics will be given preference. The appointment will begin August 2013. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience in physics or a related field is required. Candidates must have an outstanding research record for their experience level and show promise of teaching effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
