Witec alphasnom: Confocal Raman, Photoluminescence.
As the Department of Physics and Astronomy
transitions to limited research operations under the University’s “Orange Phase”,
the FEI SEM and Witec Instrument are now open. However, users should be
aware of the following mandatory protocols before coming to the lab and when
using the instruments:
1) Please fill out
College of Sciences Lab Personnel Form (http://www.physics.utah.edu/laser/Lab-Personnel-Form.pdf) and send a copy to zhliu@physics.utah.edu.
2) You must make
reservations beforehand at our reservation website (http://www.physics.utah.edu/laser/equipmentreservationall.php) in order to use SEM or Witec Instrument. No use of these instruments is allowed
without making reservations on the website first.
3) Please make sure
that a minimum of 1-hour gap exists between you and the neighboring sessions.
4) Only come to
INSCC at the time of your reservation, and leave the building no later than the
end time of your reservation.
5) Do not enter INSCC
if you are feeling sick, or was sick during last 14 days, or was in contact to
anyone who was tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 14 days.
6) Upon entry into INSCC,
wash your hands with soap and water.
7) Face covering is required
in the building at all times.
8) Maintain a
minimum 6 ft distancing from other people at all times. No more than 2 people
are allowed in an individual lab room at any given time.
9) Please sign in and sign off the paper logsheets.
10) Users should
bring their own gloves and face coverings. Disposable gloves will still be
provided to lab users.
11) Before you use
the instrument, sanitize all surfaces to be touched. Wipes will be provided.
12) When you are
finished using the instrument, sanitize all surfaces touched.
13) Use of other
instruments in these labs, such as spin coater, vacuum sputter and carbon
coater, are not allowed.
