Educational Background:

  • M.S., 1965, Beijing University, Beijing, China

Research Interests:

Dr. Wu has been extensively working on various problems in the frontier of theoretical particle physics, condensed matter theory and mathematical physics. These include unified string theory, Chern-Simons gauge theory, fractional statistics and the quantum Hall effect, integrable field theory and lattice statistical models including quantum groups and the Yang-Baxter equations, as well as geometry and field/string theory on a space time with non-commutative coordinates. In particular, he is interested in the topological aspects of physical phenomena in both particle and condensed-matter physics, and in the geometric and algebraic structures underlying the fundamental laws in physics that unify all matter and forces in nature.
