The Snowbird Cosmic Lyman-Alpha Workshop (SnowCLAW)

March 19 - 24, 2017

Massive stars in star-forming galaxies produce energetic photons to ionize the neutral hydrogen atoms in the interstellar medium, and the subsequent recombinations can end up as Lyman-alpha emission. Such Lyman-alpha emitting galaxies have become an important population of the high-redshift galaxies and an important probe to the high-redshift universe. Lyman-alpha emitting galaxies and other Lyman-alpha emission phenomena are among the primary targets of many ongoing and forthcoming surveys.

The workshop aims at providing opportunities to bring together researchers, including both observers and theorists, to discuss the latest progress in the observational properties of Lyman-alpha emitting galaxies, the applications of them in probing the universe, and the future efforts in this field.

We cordially invite you to join us at the Snowbird Cosmic Lyman-Alpha Workshop (SnowCLAW) during March 19 - 24, 2017, held at the Snowbird Ski Resort near Salt Lake City, Utah.

• Lyman-alpha emission as a probe of galaxy formation and evolution
