Homework

All homework is submitted within the WebAssign environment. Do not disregard the importance of the homework part of your course grade. Your final HW submission must be done no later than 10:00 a.m. on their due date. The purpose of the discussion section is to allow you to get all the assistance you need to help you submit finished and correct homework. Do not disregard the importance of the discussion part of the course. In general, students who attend discussion sections regularly, do better in the course. The actual assignments are accessed individually by each student when they enter the WebAssign website (https://www.webassign.net/utah/login.html). The numerically lowest four homework scores will be dropped when we compute the homework score for the semester.

Exams

There will be four exams in total for this course (three midterm exams and the final). Your lowest midterm exam score will not count toward your grade; this will help you if for some reason (unexpected scheduling conflicts) you are unable to take an exam. NOTE: You must show your student ID in order to turn in each exam. NO EXCEPTIONS.

All material submitted for this course must have your NAME and STUDENT ID NUMBER printed clearly at the top of each page. This is very important for exams, since pages of a test are separated for grading purposes.

No early or makeup exams will be given. (Again, a single missed midterm exam will not count against your grade since the lowest exam score is dropped. It is highly recommended that you do not miss two or more exams.)

For some extra practice click the link to another professor of 2220. Remember this does not reflect this semester and it is another professor's review exams, but it is practice for working problems. Click here.

Exam Schedule

All midterm exams are scheduled beginning at your registered lecture time (i.e., 8:00 a.m.) in the regular lecture room - map.

MIDTERM EXAMS

Exam 1

 Friday, June 5th

Exam 2

 Friday, June 26th

Exam 3

 Wednesday, July 22nd

The Final Exam is on August 6th in the regular lecture room from 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

Grades

TBA Grades are calculated as follows. The two highest of the three midterm exams are each worth 25% of your grade (thus, a total of 50% for these two midterm exams). Yuor lowest midterm exam score is not counted. The final exam is worth 25% and homework contributes 25%. The lowest four homework assignments will not count towards your homework score – they be dropped.

A disputed exam grade must be brought to the instructor's attention before the next exam is given. Re-grades will not be performed on exams that are written in pencil. Re-grade forms must be completed for every problem in question. Re-grade forms are available here. Exam Procedures are here. No re-grades will be made for homework problems.
