Cottrell Scholars Collaborative
National Teaching Assistant Workshop

The objective of this project is to facilitate broad adoption of interactive and evidence-based teaching and learning strategies by harnessing the immense potential of teaching assistants (TAs). We will pursue this objective with several coordinated activities including a 2-day TA workshop; development of online and print materials; and development of a professional network of TAs and instructors.

When: Wednesday-Friday, May 27-29, 2015

Where: Georgia Institute of Technology / Atlanta / Georgia

Nominations Due: Friday, February 13, 2015.

Eligibility: Teams of one "master" TA and one faculty member from Physics or Chemistry Departments are eligible to apply (see "Apply Now" tab above). Applications must include a letter of support from the Department Chairperson as described on the application page.

Expenses: Ground expenses (lodging, meals, local transportation) will be covered by the Cottrell Scholars Collaborative for both TA and Faculty participants. Departments must commit to cover all other expenses (i.e., travel).

Workshop organizers are experienced faculty members at various R1 Universities in Physics and Chemistry, and are all members of the Cottrell Scholars Collaborative.
