Clarification: Anyone and everyone is invited to come. However, I highly recommend that either you call the Tribe(1-928-448-2121) and reserve a spot or let me know that you would like to come and I'll reserve a spot for you. You will probably be able to reserve even the day that you hike in, so there should be no trouble with that.

If I remember correctly, cell phone service does work in the village. There's spring and chlorinated water at the camp site, portapotties at the camp site, flush toilets in town (town is 2 miles away from the camp site). Camp sites are first come first serve, ie. last come farther walk.

Currently, I have reserved for myself(Salt Lake), Bill(San Diego), Adam(SL), and Rob (Phoenix) for August 3rd and 4th. That's a Friday and Saturday night. Reservations are free during that weekend. Anyone else is welcome to come with us. Let me know if you sign up or call me to reserve a spot for you (kaggieguy at hotmail.com) so I can add you to any emailings or coordinate car pooling or possibly food. I figure hike in Friday morning, relax Saturday, and fly out Sunday morning. Plan on being gone from Thursday through Sunday. (Or even Monday if you can't drive that far in one day. We'll probably be out of the canyon at ~11am.) There's a slight possibility of flash floods, so watch the weather the week before.

It's a 10 mile hike in. You can rent a mule or fly in a helicopter for $75 one way. Most of us will probably hike in and fly out. Bring sandals and a towel. Backpacks can be rented from almost any sports store (and walking sticks if you prefer.) There is a restaraunt and store there, and even a hotel if you are so inclined. Just remember that they will charge exorbant prices, so plan accordingly. Weather is the same as Phoenix.

More info later.
