Textbook:

The course covers a variety of hardware issues related to the use of a computer for automatic data acquisition. The course covers aspects of digital signal processing hardware subjects, and several different software subjects: computer interfacing, LabView programming, Web page programming, and Graphical User interface programming. I placed some optional texts on reserve at the library, but I have not ordered all these books from the bookstore as I don't think it is fair for you all to spend $60 for a book we use only for 3 weeks of the course.

I have ordered the text LabView 8 Express Student Edition; it contains both a manual for LabView and a student edition of LabView which you can use to do many of the labs. The accompanying text really only tells you how to access various LabView functions but does not really help out teaching you how to think about LabView programming from a systematic approach.

In order to allow people to have adequate information for the course to do the labs, I will take the following steps:

* Copies of the text are available at the reserve library at Mariott library.
* Lecture notes and other handouts will be available on the World-Wide-Web page listed above.
* Copies of lecture notes, handouts, etc will also be available in the Lab.
