The BOWTIE short informal seminar

The short informal seminar BOWTIE (Brainstorming Our Way To Innovative Exploits) takes place every Friday from 10:30am to 11:00am in INSCC 385 (3rd floor of INSCC, new seminar room) or INSCC 465. The location is announced via email each week before the Friday seminar.

The purpose of the short seminar is to increase awareness of departmental research in the interrelated fields of high energy astrophysics, high energy physics, relativity, and cosmology.

The seminar is a short informal briefing on a current or upcoming research effort the speaker is involved with or would like to get involved with. The preferred format for presentations is through the laptop and projector. Please bring at least 6 slides for your presentation. The slides should offer background and a qualitative explanation of the material and results.

All level of questions from the audience will be welcome and encouraged. The speaker should plan a presentation that will last roughly 20 minutes. Interruptions and informal discussion are expected to extend most seminars, but we will end the meeting by 11:30am. Interested parties will be free to continue the discussion at their will.
