Homework.
In this course we are using Webassign to manage homework assignments.
To access PHYCS 2200 assignment pages go to
Use your University UNID and password to log in. The rest should
be fairly straightforward to follow.
In the Webassign pages you will find lists of assignments,
due dates, the assigned problems (html forms),
grade monitoring features, among many other things.
Solution sets.
This web page will contain links to solution sets in PDF, as available.
They will be listed according to assignment number. Broken links
mean that the assignment deadline has not passed, the solution
set is not yet available, or maybe that the link is just plain
broken.
Homework guidelines.
- To complete most of the assigned problems you will be required to
enter numerical or symbolic values. You may check your answers and
retry the problem any time before the posted deadline.
-
Assignments are to be turned in any time up to 11:59pm of the posted
due date. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED (this isn't really
personal, as your instructor has no idea how to accept late assignments
using this system).
Remember the good news, that your lowest
two-weeks worth of homework scores do not count against your grade.
-
BEWARE! Recent experience with Webassign suggests that it can
get overwhelmed with internet traffic in the evenings. PLAN AHEAD.
-
The point-value of problems within an assignment are displayed in
Webassign. No partial credit will be given. (The instructor is
probably as unhappy about this as you may be. However, in exchange,
you will usually be given the oppurtunity to check and see if your
answer is correct before actually submitting it.)
-
All problem set scores are initially scaled to a percentage
correct. Only then will the lowest scores be dropped (two-weeks worth,
as mentioned). Otherwise All assignment scores are weighted equally
in the tally of your final grade.
