Carroll problems 5.3 and 5.4(a).

Hint for Carroll problem 1.10: I hope we all agree as to how a (0,2) tensor should transform, but make sure the properties of the Lorentz transformations you write down are correct. Among other details, remember that Lambda^{mu}_{mu'}is the INVERSE of Lambda^{mu'}_{mu}(with the indices ordered in this way). See page 18 of your book.

There are a number of equivalent ways to arrive at the solution of how the electric and magnetic fields transform. I expect you to do the problem as written, transforming F_{mu nu}, but you should easily be able to check your own work. And as always, be very careful if you're doing the problem in matrix form rather than component form!
