Pearl Sandick

The Millennium Simulation

I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Utah, where I study particle physics beyond the Standard Model, including DARK MATTER. My research involves the connections between theoretical particle physics, cosmology, and astrophysics. Please have a look at my research page, where you can also find links to some of my talks.

I'm currently teaching General Relativity (PHYS/ASTR 7720), which is being offered here and also at the University of Hawaii via teleconference. In the spring, I'll teach Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics (PHYS3760). I'm also the faculty advisor for the Utah Women in Physics and Astronomy (WomPA).

I'm on the radio! KPCW's Cool Science Radio interviewed me about the big bang and inflation on April 3rd. I had a great time chatting with hosts Lynn Ware Peek and John Wells!

The University of Utah was selected to host a 2014 Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP), which took place January 17-19, 2014. Our conference drew 111 student participants from 13 states and Canada to the campus of the University of Utah. Conference information, including a list of participants and photos, can be found on the Utah CUWiP website.
