COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is the second semester of the 2-semester General Physics with Calculus sequence. This course will satisfy the physics requirements for pre-med, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, other health occupations, architecture and design, biology, and other students. It is also appropriate for Physics Majors in the Applied and Pre Med tracks. The major areas concentration during the second semester are the completion of the sections of thermal physics not concluded during the first semester course, Physics 2110, electrostatics, DC current and direct current circuits, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, elements of AC circuits, the nature of light and optics both geometrical and physical, and portions of modem physics including quantum physics, relativity, nuclear physics, high energy physics, and others as time permits.

PRE-REQUISITE
Physics 2110, 2 Semesters of Calculus

OTHER COMMENTS
Physics 2120 will pick up where Physics 2110 leaves off. That will be either at the start of Electrostatics or somewhere near the end of thermal physics. The collection of topics covered completes the full year sequence of topics traditionally covered in a one year sequence at the algebra-trigonometry level. Calculus is included in this second semester course more so than in the first semester course (Physics 2110) to deepen and enhance topic presentation and enrich the experience of those with the requisite mathematical background. The level of mathematical exposition will be somewhat more advanced than is found in the typical College Physics one year program.
