Introduction to computational technique in science and engineering, using Unix workstations.

OTHER COMMENTS
Eventually PHYCS 1090 should become prerequisite. This course meets concurrently with PHYCS 5720.

Unix File Structure and Basic Commands (1 week plus scattered)

Text Editing with Emacs (scattered throughout - total 1 week)

Introduction to the C Programming Language (2 weeks)

Introduction to Symbolic Mathematics (e.g. Maple) (2 weeks)

Scientific Document Preparation with LaTeX. (1 week)
