Physical principles and practical use of optical instrumentation and sensors. Photodetectors, lasers, fiber sensors, interferometry, acousto-optic,optical imaging and pyrometry. Fundamental sensinglimits, optical noise sources, spatial/temporal coherence. The laboratory provides hands on experience with modern optical sensors and measurement systems
