- Advanced topics, including some or all of: Transfer matrix methods in classical systems,
theory of phase transitions and critical exponents, dynamical critical exponents. Monte Carlo
methods. Quantum phases: superfluidity and superconductivity.Uses of quantum field theory
techniques in solution of diffusion/recombination problems, as in theory of chemical reactions.
