Dr. Anthony Pantziris has been with Department of Physics and Astronomy for 30 years. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Athens, Greece, in 1981, Dr. Pantziris continued his education at Brown University and earned his PhD in Theoretical High Energy Physics with his thesis titled Axions and Majorons in Particle Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Among the long list of exceptional feedback, one student wrote: "Prof. Pantziris is one of the greatest STEM professors at this school. His lectures are super engaging and helpful to gain a deep understanding of the material." Another student wrote: "He cares so much about physics and it really shows. Almost every class includes fun demonstrations. Sometimes we shoot cannons, sometimes we ride on wheelie chairs powered by fire extinguishers. He takes care in answering everybody's questions and he is thoughtful when it comes to simplifying difficult concepts for the class."
It is an honor to have had such an excellent physicist in our department. We wish Dr. Pantziris all the best in his retirement!
