There are a number of resources available on Campus for computer help.

Submit a Department IT Helpdesk Ticket:

For Physics & Astronomy IT questions and help you can fill out an IT service/support request (incident) and you can always contact Brad. If it is after hours or on the weekend and you need immediate help please check with the Campus Help Desk (see below).


Knowledge Commons:

The Marriott Library Knowledge Commons is an excellent source of help and information. Immediate and in person help with extended hours.


Campus Help Desk:

Best help source for Umail, Campus Information System, Canvas and other major campus resources. Phone and email help with extended hours.


Setting up DUO on new phone:

Call the Campus Help Desk at 801-581-4000. They will ask some security questions to verify your identity, then send you a text with an embedded access code to activate DUO on your new phone.

Research Experiences for Undergrads


The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Utah offers a research experience program in physics and astronomy that allows undergraduate students to work closely with a faculty mentor and their research group on an individual project.

All interested students are invited to apply for this 10-week summer program.
